…why, exactly, did they cancel “Pushing Daisies?”

Well, sadly, no one was watching it. Sometimes I think “Pushing Daisies” was too quirky for its own good.

Yeah, but still. It sucks. I blame the strike for taking the wind out of Daisies’ first-season sails. They never recovered.

Man, I’m gonna miss La Chenoweth so much! Who will sing to me when it’s dark and the nightmares come? WHO I ASK YOU

She’ll be back on Glee though, right? So she can still sing to you!

And I agree that PD was just over the line of acceptable twee-ness. I couldn’t deal, cutest tv dog ever or no.

She’s gonna be on Glee? Rock! I think I’d forgotten that. Now they just need to cast Digby as the Glee Club Mascot or something, and all will be well in the world.

I do kind of agree about the twee-ness, and Chuck kinda bugged, from time to time. but when that show had a good episode, it was so much fun, I forgave a lot. And the writing was super-great, and Chi McBride rocked as the dour straight man, definitely offset the overquirk.

I actually just watched the last of the three unaired episodes, and they were disappointing. (**Sorta-Spoiler ahead**) THe show had really hit a stride for a little bit, story-arc-wise, just before it got pulled, but I think when they were making those last three eps, they didn’t know that they’d be the last, so they don’t concern the season-long arcs. And then it just sort of… ends. There’s even this weird bit where the narrator sums up everything that happened to everyone in the future. It’s like a three-minute version of the Harry Potter epilogue. Odd.

I just wish we could move aside one of the CSIs to make room for something as original and weird as Daisies was. Bryan Fuller should leave Heroes and go do something else that’s awesome. i.e. not Heroes.
