Glenn Greenwald is really impressed with a couple of Obama’s recent appointments, especially with the choice of Dawn Johnsen for the Office of Legal Council. If Greenwald’s happy about it, it’s probably a good thing for the constitution. Yahtzee does a
best-of-2008 video. His game of the year was Saints Row 2. Huh. I’ll have to play it sometime next millennium when I actually have time. Sars at
Tomato Nation links to this series of pictures, which: hilarious. The Atlantic publishes
this amazing article on my favorite person of 2008. The NYT publishes a
pretty awesome, fawning piece on their star songwriting blogger (and occasional songwriter) Andrew Bird. I’m really looking forward to his new album. Joe R.
is excited about a lot of shows coming up in the spring. I could never, ever watch this much TV, even if it was my job. Kotaku has some
COD4 numbers that are pretty intense. Nate Silver’s site fivethirtyeight.com is
nominated for a 2008 Weblog Award. I wonder if Silver’s been aggrigating the numbers in this contest, and if his current model has him winning. Because so far, it would appear that his site is stomping the competition. Vote! Shamus over at Twentysided, a site I’d never heard of, made
this wonderful video about the revolutionary nature of the new Prince of Persia. He puts it way better than I could, and has some really interesting things to say about the nature of game design. Recommended!
